James Simpson, Ph.D., is the Donald B. and Katherine P. Loker Research Professor of English at Harvard University. He is a Heterodox Academy member. His latest monograph is Permanent Revolution: The Reformation and the Illiberal Roots of Liberalism (The Belknap Press of Harvard University Press, 2019). He is currently writing a book entitled Romance, Recognition and Resurrection: The Wisdom of Happy Endings.
